The unexpected death of Dr Roman Carlos on 5 November 2021 is a great loss to the oral medicine and pathology community worldwide. Roman was a man of great warmth, patience and kindness with his patients. He would go to great lengths to explain things to them and their families and he always had time to listen to their concerns. He truly cared for his fellow beings, and all of us, as friends and colleagues, felt quite uplifted in his company.
A great doctor, a man of integrity and, at the end of the day, an awesome human being.
Thank you Roman. Italian oral medicine will remember you with fondness.
